Update Cryptome Downing
-.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.-. --.-
Für DOS-Attacken gibt es nach wie vor keinen direkten
Nachweis, viel eher scheint eine falsch angegebene
Cryptome-URL beim unsäglichen Matt Drudge, viel Verkehr

JYA and Cryptome continue to be nearly inaccessible for
unknown reasons. Our ISP, Digital Nation, assures that the
problem is due to overload of our under-powered dedicated
server. So we have rented an under-power-plus server at
twice the cost. And are currently migrating files to it and
modifying DNS records. The sites should be fully operational
in a day or so. New IPs when activated:
JYA 216.167.120.49 Cryptome 216.167.120.50
Some investigators believe the sites have been, and continue
to be, under DDOS or DOS attack. We have obtained 113MB
log files for each site, up 10-fold since July 21. Once we
figure out how to open them we will assess the hits for clues
to our nemeses -- which may well be ourselves for being
unequipped for demand for fast freed secrets. When wiser
minds identify the problem we'll report it.
We have mixed feelings about Drudge sending us thousands
of visitors armed with a munged URL, and producing a torrent
of error messages which appear to be a prime cause of the
bulging log files. Monica warned: beware of Drudge's DOS.
