DeCSS-update / [Kein] Anschiss in AT-Land
Was die gesetzlich ermächtigte
Eigentums/bewachungs/behörde USD Copyright Office an
Formalia einmahnt, wenn sie auf die Anfragen rund um die
DeCSS-Prozesse reagiert.
Hinter://grund
http://service.quintessenz.at/cgi-bin/htsearch?method=and&format=builtin-long&config=quisse&restrict=&exclude=&sort=score&words=DeCSS
verstaubten analogen Einweg-Streaming-Medium, URLs
kommen ziemlich viel besser - bekanntlich ist jetzt im Netz
Bewegung angesagt.
post/post/scrypt: Wo denn überall?

Could someone please also forward it to other GNU lists ( I
seem to be ORBLed out of them ).
Also, please widely circulate, and express your opinion about
the recent DVD witch-hunt.
Thanks, Anjul.

Thank you for your recent communication with the Copyright
Office concerning classes of works that are, or are likely to
be, adversely affected by the prohibition against
circumventing a technological measure that controls access
to a copyrighted work under the Digital Millennium Copyright
Act.
Your communication does not, however, comply with the
requirements for electronic comments to the Copyright Office
as specified in the Notice of Inquiry published in the Federal
Register November 24, 1999. Submissions that are not sent
in the proper format can not be posted as a comment on the
Copyright Office's web site. You may, however, re-submit an
acceptable comment in the format detailed below. As you will
note in the following requirements, the Copyright Office has
broadened the acceptable file formats it will accept as
attachments to the email message by now including ASCII
text file attachments and RTF file attachments.
If you wish to re-submit a comment electronically, the
following format is required:
The email message must contain: >Your name; >If you are
submitting on behalf of an organization, the name of the
organization; >Your address; >Your phone number; >Your
email address; >Your fax number (if any); AND >The
Comment itself must be attached to the email message as a
separate file in either Adobe Portable Document File (PDF);
or Microsoft Word Version 7.0 or earlier; or WordPerfect 7 or
earlier; or RTF format; or ASCII text format. The Comment
itself should also contain the information noted above (name,
address, etc.), and at a minimum must include your name.
To be considered, your comment must comply with the
above format and informational requirements and sent to
"1201@loc.gov" no later than Thursday, February 10, 2000.
For the requirements on other electronic and print options for
filing comments, please check the Notice of Inquiry on our
